STOP ANNOYING POP-UP ADVERTS ON ANDROID DEVICES AND WEB BROWSERS
In digital advertising, pop-up ads are more effective than
banner ads because they are highly visible, they are multipurpose and can
accommodate most types of advertisements. The use of pop up ads is highly
needed by advertisers because the ROI is very high and if well used brings
about better branding but one cannot ignore the level of frustration pop up ads
cause as they litter the desktop when we are surfing the net.
Standalone
websites, sponsored web pages, interactive games are embedded in Pop-up ads and
they sometimes pop up even when you are just scrolling through a web page and
before you know it, they will direct you to some very disruptive sites like
porn sites, betting sites and even some fraudulent sites where your personal
details can be compromised.
But all these can be brought to a stop. Follow me on this
post as I’ll be teaching how to stop these annoying pop up ads on our browsers
and our devices.
ON YOUR WEB BROWSER (Mobile & Desktop)
- Start by opening your web browser
- Beside the address bar, check for the three dot
(if applicable to your browser) if otherwise, check for where you’ll see the ‘settings’
icon
- Select ‘site settings’ ‘sites and downloads’ ‘Ads
blocking’ or otherwise as applicable to your browser
- Select Pop-ups and Redirects
- Turn Pop-ups & redirects off
·
it’s
advisable to check ‘Ads’ and ensure
it’s turned off to Block ads from sites that show misleading ads.
·
Some browsers
don’t provide you with the option of stopping ads manually by yourself. In that
case, you’ll need one of these third party adblocker software.

surf the net before they’ll have these disturbing ads appear on their
