WhatsApp
has announced that its app can now be locked with a fingerprint on Android. This
development comes after WhatsApp added an extra layer of privacy (Touch ID and
Face ID) for iPhone users earlier this year. Turning the feature on means
you’ll need to use your fingerprint to unlock the app even after unlocking your
phone. It’s a similar kind of authentication method you will find in your bank’s
mobile app.
To enable this feature:
Go to
Settings on your Whatsapp
Select Account
Select Privacy
Choose fingerprint lock
Turn on Unlock with fingerprint, and confirm
your fingerprint.
If you do not find this option on your WhatsApp, you probably do not have the updated version. Go straight to play store to update your WhatsApp to enjoy this feature.
